Theme helps Tune make some noise

02-09-2010

Budget chain Tune Hotels have launched the first of a planned 15 UK hotels - and turned to Reading graphic design agency Theme Group to help with their marketing.

Tune Hotels charge from just £9 a night to stay in their Westminster location, and guests then pay extra for towels, toiletries and optional add-ons like WiFi. The company is already big in the middle east, but they recognised that branding from one country often won't work elsewhere and asked Theme to help them appeal to a UK market.

The design agency investigated Tune's competition before coming up with a complete online and offline strategy - including tone of voice, packaging for optional extras like shampoo and soap, and promotional characters for a range of posters and leaflets highlighting their USPs.

The hotel received a lot of press coverage before Tuesday's launch, and has since received several reviews praising its great value, central location and exceptionally comfortable beds – made by 5-star hotel supplier Hypnos.

Many of these reviews have even displayed Theme Group's design work in all its glory - this picture from The Sun is a great example.
